- Guides, Advice & Other Resources
There are many fantastic curated resources and guides out there, covering a range of things (a number of which are linked below), but my focus with Human Creations for Creative Humans is to curate resources for creators of TTRPGs, video games, or any other creative endeavour fit any budget (or lack thereof). I want to make it easier for humans to find and use art, assets, and advice provided by other humans, regardless of the money they have (though paying artists is always preferable and should ultimately be the goal), because there are a lot of misconceptions about the availability of art and a disturbing encroaching of ‘AI’-generated images, both with larger, established companies and in the things people are making for indie games.
‘AI’ ‘Art’ genuinely threatens the livelihood of artists and the human understanding and relationship with art. I believe it needs to be opposed with equal vigour as NFTs and crypto bullshit. This is all my opinion and you don’t have to agree. However, I’m done arguing about this and wanted to do something positive to combat it, so I made this as I can’t draw.
Here you will find art, backgrounds and textures, maps, brushes fonts, icons and logos, templates, SRDs and open games, music, guides and advice, and whatever else might be useful. Each section is split between, free and PWYW, and paid models that are ludicrously cheap for what they are, including subscriptions through Patreon, Ko-fi, etc. with hundreds of images on individual platforms for as little as $1 a month that can add up to a vault of over 1,000 images for you to use for the price of a coffee.
Hopefully, this will be enough to help you make a start, improve your projects and skills, and ultimately lead to you and your fellow creators being able to keep on keeping on.
If there is anything you would particularly like to see added, including anything you create or service you provide, please don't hesitate to reach out by commenting here, or through itch, Mastodon or email.
I want to acknowledge Goblin Archives’ phenomenal Annotated Archive of Game Design Resources, which served as the starting point for this, and HINOKODO’s Human Made icon pack, which helped inspire this and is a great thing to add to add to entirely human-created projects.

If you’re a fascist, you’re not welcome to [use this resource]. It’s against the rules. If you’re reading this and thinking, “You just call everyone you disagree with a fascist,” then you’re probably a fascist, or incapable of drawing inferences from context and acknowledging a dangerous political climate that causes the oppressed to be hyperbolic. Don’t play this game. Heal yourself. Grow. Learn. Watch some Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood or something.
I am Queer in every Sphere.
I don't make things for bigots.

Here's a nice resource for grids and hexes
Thank you ever so much! I will add this next update, which has been a long time coming because of chronic health stuff
THANK YOU FELLOW HUMAN FOR THIS EXCELLENT WORLD WIDE WEB LINK OF HUMAN ARTISTIC PROWESS. I WILL USE THIS AS INSPIRATION FOR MY OWN CREATIVE IMAGE GENERATION!
(sry just making a small joke.)
Fantasy Forgeworks on the list of patron supported artists is AI generated art that is hand edited. Which seems against the spirit of the list if nothing else.
From their patreon about page: “Notice: The artwork on this page is created with the help of creative software powered by machine-learning. However, each piece of art is further refined and improved by me to ensure the best possible quality.”
To be clear I’m not casting blame, I adore and appreciate this resource and just wanted to ensure that you’re informed.
Thank you ever so much for this information it's greatly appreciated. Next time I update the document I will remove them.
Really appreciate you letting me know
Take care x

This continues to expand and grow! I want you to know it's one of the first things I share with new TTRPG creators when they ask me for resources.
You're an asset to the community, RatGrrrl.
I can't tell you happy that makes me! Thank you so very much x
Sharing two resources that I think are worth adding to this collection (if you're taking fan suggestions):
Thank you ever so much! Always appreciate suggestions! Will add these in the next update!
Thanks so much for following me! I am so glad that you have compiled this resource. It is a great benefit to creators who are strapped for budget.
You are more than welcome! I am in the same boat and hope you get some use out of this! Much love x
An excellent resource for creating games - thank you so much for putting this together!
Thank you so very much for your kind words! You are most welcome! x
